Left Coast

Who needs the arts? LeftCoast is a recently formed initiative supported by Arts Council England to get more people involved in arts and cultural activities around Blackpool and Wyre – traditionally an area of low engagement. First, we came up with the name and identity, reflecting both the project’s geographical location and the artistic vision of moving audiences “an inch to the left”. And once we had established the idea of “leftness” as a shorthand for all things artistically exciting and off-centre, a multitude of quirkily impactful creative applications quickly followed….
